I began The Simple Catholic blog in 2015 with the hope of drawing others closer to understanding the splendor of truth as taught by Jesus Christ and safeguarded by the Catholic Church. I hope to use my writing as a means of growing in holiness and bringing others to Christ as well.
My dream of being a writer probably began when I was a 1st grader. In collecting the complete series of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps, I developed a deep love for reading. The next summer, I competed in a city-wide reading contest sponsored by the local baseball team. I finished in 2nd place for my age group and ended up winning hundreds of dollars in free tickets to ⚾️ games!
Reading opened up a love of storytelling for me. The love of storytelling blossomed into a zest for writing.
✅Along with my abiding love for writing, I am inspired by my Catholic faith. Born a cradle Catholic, my true conversion followed on the heels of multiple miscarriages and looking into the eyes of my four beautiful children, two challenged with autism.
I’ve also learned a lot as a parent to children with autism. My journey as a dad helped me become more compassionate and has helped my writing too.
I will be feature a healthy mixture of theological expositions and anecdotal evidence of the Holy Spirit’s workings in my life. St. Catherine of Siena said, “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on 🔥.” Partner with me so we can set the world ablaze with joy together! Thank you to all who follow me in this endeavor.
